Practice · plan before you build
A clear brief helps you and an AI agree on the goal before code changes. Work through the questions, then copy a planning prompt into the AI tool you choose. BaiCoder does not send your idea to an AI.

Name the person or group.
Write one sentence: As a [person], I want to [action], so that [outcome].
Describe the current problem in one or two sentences.
Choose one complete result for the first version.
List the main actions in order.
List what records get saved and who is allowed to read or change each item.
List any outside connections (e.g. emails, payment, maps, AI API), or explicitly state none for version 1.
Name features to defer so the first build stays focused.
Consider missing, stale, or failed information.
Write observable checks, not just styling preferences.
List anything you are unsure about. The AI should ask before assuming.
Review before you use it
I have an idea for a web app. Help me clarify and plan it before anything is built. Do not edit files, run commands, connect services, or deploy. Who will use it? [I have not decided this yet] What is their core story? [I have not decided this yet] What do they need to do? [I have not decided this yet] What is the first useful outcome? [I have not decided this yet] What steps are essential? [I have not decided this yet] What information does the app remember? [I have not decided this yet] What outside services or APIs are needed? [I have not decided this yet] What should this version leave out? [I have not decided this yet] What could go wrong? [I have not decided this yet] How will you check that it works? [I have not decided this yet] What still needs your decision? [I have not decided this yet] First, identify the highest-impact missing or conflicting decisions and ask me one question at a time. Do not invent answers for me. When the important questions are answered, summarize the agreed user, user story, problem, first-version scope, stored data boundaries, external service connections, exclusions, and acceptance checks. Then propose a small, reviewable build plan and describe which app parts it affects. Explain assumptions and risks in plain language. Wait for my approval before changing anything.
